music and events so far in my life
I have always had a flexible theme to content on music, Life with
rules never appealed to me. I have never felt like this is where I will
spend the rest of my life. Music as been a governing factor all through my
life so far. I by chance went baby sitting you always went through the
entire box of records. I came across the motown story it fascinated me the
way it put fact's. "Someday we'll be together" the final song Diana Ross did
live with the Supreme's. I already liked soul music growing up with 1960's
radio in the mods era. After the motown story I loved it the freedom to
dance to it the way that felt good. But how easily you could listen to soul
music then switch to the Who. Keeping the same tempo through out a personal
interpretation to it.
variable
without exception
I have that many memories from life connected to music. Not 100%
northern soul, punk rock, Joy division, the police, the undertones, U2,
wham, David Bowie, Teardrop explodes, the punk bands I saw would fill a big
chunk of this page. So I will had video's of highlights of interest.

no1 New order: ceremony "live"
the first is band I adored from there Joy division days. Bernard Albrecht
had mesmerizing open tuned guitar's best heard live.

Siouxsie
and the banshee's
It's no good saying it the proof of the pudding is the eating of
it. Still the carefree Siouxsie in her defiant 100 club punk
showcase days. Over the punk success around 76 I don't think she
ever lost being alluring to any man. Just mellowed a bit from her
lets shock everybody. Be remembered was'nt ever going to be enough
for Siouxsie. The best excuse to wear a star of David most the time.
So many wondered if she had neo Nazi learning in the lyrics to the
songs. I have never seen any extreme right wing tendencies by any
members of the band or Siouxsie. I think that was more a 70's stereo
type. of that time you where automatically given

Siouxsie and Budgie
in a cultural mode
Some observers thought neither Siouxsie or Budgie the drummer had
any breeding or culture in them. This reveals different as both
explore there back to nature theme with miss the girl. The feeling,
emotion, and content portrayed in this song. Must tell listeners
that Siouxsie and Budgie are musicians. Ok punk was'nt stringent on
the ability to be a brilliant musician. But the excursion to get the
"miss the girl" song. Full of emotion and sounding so good. Took a
lot of effort from both sides to achieve it. People who thought punk
rock just allowed people with no musical ability to succeed. Watch
this performance and regret the way you thought. As 2 musicians with
the ability to entertain perform.

the
girl next door type from Bromley
meet the real Siouxsie Sioux a normal girl next door type. Who
came from Bromley in Kent to progress as 1 of the innovators of
the early punk fashion. Appeared on the BBC news program
Nationwide when Johnny Rotten shocked the nation. With is four
lettered abuse of the presenter. Several other big names like
Clare Grogan from Altered images. Also her actress role in
Gregory's girl a 70's film. She was a popular figure on John
Peel's radio show in the 1970's. Which was the starting point
for a lot of new bands then. It was aired mon to fri 10pm to
12pm on BBC radio1. To get signed up for a Peel session which
where recorded at the BBC Maida vale studio's was seen as having
great potential. Also shown is Mark Almond who recorded the big
northern soul record "Tainted love" by Gloria Jones. The lead
singer from the Slits another band heavily featured on the Peel
radio show at the time.
Teardrop explodes: I dream
This record has a fond memory attached to it. I still can picture
Julian Cope singing "I dream". The way he sang it at Manchester
Apollo on a Thursday night in the early 1980's. I went to a lot
of concerts then my girlfriend at the time Julie. Who shared my
passion for live music we had some brilliant nights out. 1 thing
I will always remember about Julie is the concerts we went to.
Neither of us could drive that did'nt stop me and Julie. Going
all over the north west to concerts if we fancied going we went.
We made a great time where ever and who ever we saw. That was of
very little importance we where young and enjoyed life.

the Tom Tom club
1 band that had me fixed to
the stage. For every second they where on it. Was the Tom Tom
club Tina Weymouth has got. A magnet like attraction once
it started she had me fixed to the spot. A concert you never
wanted to end like all your birthdays arrived at once. I suppose
I better mention she plays a role in the other band that
headlined that day. But I did'nt seem to pay much attention to
Talking heads. You could of put them back in the dressing room
and put the Tom Tom club on again for me. David Byrne and psycho
killer lost it's attraction

Tom
Tom club 2
1 song is never enough from
Tina Weymouth. So to keep the party going. "the genius of love"
from the same Tokyo concert. Below it is the same song performed
with the aid of Talking heads musicians. The greater tighter
sound coming from everybody working together. It was a great
party feeling to see them live. Very professional sound they all
knew there place and k ept it.

Talking heads + Tom Tom club
Added this just to illustrate the depth and ambience that's created. When
2 great musical forces combine to party on a single stage

UB40
sing "1 in 10" early album track
The Saturday Julie and I travelled to Fellowes park. For the
UB40 signing off tour concert. Was a warm dry day and a very
good concert. Another resounding success we both enjoyed the
concert. The early 80's was a great time to be growing up. I had
to let Julie go. Not by choice what ever she thought I was in
for a extended vacation with her majesty Julie had'nt done
anything wrong. So what choice did I have she was early 20's.
Julie you might hate me for doing it but it was because I
thought more of you so did'nt want you punished for my crime.
VIDEO
UB40 "food for
thought" another early track
It might be just my opinion of bands. But once they reach a point
of success. They loose the edge. From then on it mellows there
songs to a more well produced track. But there is no driving
force behind it anymore.

the Undertones: my perfect cousin
How many people who will read this can relate to it. The times I
saw the Undertones Fergal Sharkey came across. As a naughty
school boy full of mischief but a excellent artist on stage.
Like a lot of things nothing gets close to the fun side of
pleasure
